Social Media Content Creator (INTERN)

Are you creative, interested in Roman history and have an understanding of what makes a tweet or Facebook update engaging? If yes, we need you!

We are looking for a volunteer Social Media Content Creator to join our digital team to help create interesting and exciting content for our Twitter and Facebook profiles.

This apprenticeship can be completed from anywhere in the world, or if you are local to Rome you can work in-person with our team.


Dates: August 21 2017 - September 30 2017 (with potential option to extend if desired)


What will be my responsibilities?

  • To create x20 social media status updates and tweets per week for AIRC, including imagery and links
  • Plan content around existing AIRC activities (such as our #RomeOnThisDay project)


What requirements are there?

Language: English (native or proficient) OR Italian (native or proficient) + English (native or proficient)

Minimum weekly commitment: 2 hours (or more if possible)

Experience/Qualifications: None required - just a solid understanding of social media!



  • Add to your CV a leading organisation that spreads knowledge about Rome and Roman history across the world through the use of new media and innovative technology

  • Work with and learn from a team of highly experienced professionals, covering multiple skills ranging from digital marketing to archeology 

  • Receive employment or educational recommendations from our leadership team


As a non-profit organisation all roles are undertaken on a voluntary/pro-bono basis.
